Copyright & Content Policy

Version 2.0 · effective 18 September 2026 · last reviewed 18 September 2026 · next review 18 September 2027

In short

  • You own your content. Uploading never transfers ownership to us.
  • You give us a limited, revocable licence to store it and process it (including by AI) to run the service for you. Public reviews are the exception — posting one lets us display it on the site under your chosen username.
  • Only upload material you have the right to use: your own notes, school-permitted or openly licensed material — not other people's books or slides.
  • Don't upload other people's personal information without permission.
  • AI-generated outputs are for your personal study; we don't claim ownership of them, and they may reproduce parts of your source material's copyright.
  • Deleting content or your account ends the licences. To report copyright problems or get content taken down, use the contact page.

Read the full policy below.

1. Ownership of your content

You keep all ownership of materials you upload, paste or link to, and of any notes, quizzes, flashcards or other study content you create in ReviseBase. Nothing in our terms transfers your ownership to us.

2. Licence you give us

To provide the Service you grant us a limited, revocable licence to store your content and process it through the Service — including AI processing to generate your notes, quizzes, flashcards, assistant answers and reports — and to display content back to you. Public reviews are different: by posting a review you licence us to display it publicly on the site, attributed to the username you chose. Deleting content, or deleting your account, ends these licences and the content is removed.

3. Your responsibilities and third-party materials

Only upload or paste content you have the right to use:

  • Copyright: don't upload books, booklets, slides, videos or other material you don't have permission or a legal right (e.g. fair dealing) to use. The Service is for your own study materials — notes you own, materials your school permits you to use, or openly licensed content.
  • Personal data: don't upload documents containing other people's personal information (e.g. classmates' details) unless you have their permission — see the Privacy Policy.
  • Responsibility: you are responsible for the content you upload. We may remove content that infringes rights or breaks our Terms and Acceptable Use Policy.

4. AI-generated outputs

Outputs (notes, quizzes, flashcards, summaries, answers) are generated from your materials and are for your personal study use. We make no claim that you or we own AI outputs beyond the rights you already hold in your source material; outputs derived from third-party works remain subject to those works' copyright — don't republish outputs that reproduce substantial parts of third-party works. Outputs may contain errors — see the AI & Educational Disclaimer.

5. Reporting, complaints and takedown

  • Your content: delete any topic, material, quiz or flashcard anytime in the app; deleting your account removes everything.
  • Copyright or privacy complaints: if you believe content on ReviseBase infringes your rights, contact us with the content involved, your rights in it and your contact details. We review valid complaints and remove infringing content promptly.
  • Illegal or harmful content: report it via the report option or contact page. We review reports, remove content, restrict accounts where justified, and report serious illegal content to authorities where the law requires.

6. ReviseBase materials

The Service's own interface, branding, demo content and site materials are © ReviseBase; platform infrastructure is provided under licence by our hosting provider. You may not copy or republish Service materials without permission, except for normal personal use of the Service.
