In short

  • Much of what ReviseBase produces — quizzes, flashcards, notes, tutor answers — is generated by AI and can contain mistakes.
  • Treat every AI output as a starting point: check important information against your course materials, specification, textbook or teacher/lecturer.
  • The AI study assistant is teaching-oriented: it helps you understand, it does not do your assessed work for you.
  • Misusing AI output in assessments may break your school or exam board's rules — that responsibility is yours.
  • Content you process is sent to third-party AI providers outside the UK; whether they use it for training is UNVERIFIED until confirmed in writing.
  • Spot a mistake? Report it with the Report question button on quiz results or via the contact page.

Read the full policy below.

1. You are interacting with AI

ReviseBase uses third-party, large-scale generative AI models. When you use the AI study assistant, generate quizzes or flashcards, request summaries or study recommendations, or run an originality report, the output is produced by an AI system, not a person. We state this clearly in line with transparency expectations for AI systems, including the EU AI Act's requirement that people are told when they interact with an AI system.

See our AI Transparency page for the full picture: features, providers, models, the data involved and how to raise problems.

2. Where AI is used

  • Document processing (notes, summaries, key points)
  • Quiz and flashcard generation (questions, answers, explanations)
  • The AI study assistant — teaching-oriented: it explains and guides rather than doing your work for you
  • Study recommendations after quizzes
  • Originality reports (indicative, not a misconduct finding)
  • Public demo content

3. AI can be wrong

Generative AI can produce content that is incorrect, incomplete, out-of-date or misread from your materials — including wrong answers in quizzes, misleading explanations, or invented facts (hallucinations). Treat every AI output as a starting point:

  • Check anything important against your class notes, specification, textbook or teacher/lecturer before relying on it in exams or coursework.
  • Report problems using the Report question button on quiz results or via our contact page — reports go to the team and help us fix materials.

This notice alone does not make AI content reliable — it tells you how to use it safely.

4. Educational use and academic integrity

ReviseBase is a learning and revision aid. It is not a substitute for your teachers, school resources or exam-board materials, and it does not provide professional advice of any kind. Misuse of AI-generated content in assessments or coursework may breach your school's or exam board's rules — you are responsible for knowing and following them. The assistant is designed to help you understand and revise your own materials, not to complete assessed work for you.

5. What happens to content you send

The content you provide is transmitted to AI providers as prompts and processed outside the UK (see the Privacy Policy for handling and transfers). UNVERIFIED — HUMAN/PROVIDER CONFIRMATION REQUIRED: whether prompts/outputs are used for provider model training; no claim about training is made until confirmed in writing.

6. Human oversight

Our team reviews user reports of AI errors, monitors output quality through reported issues, and can disable AI features when needed. No AI system here makes automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects on you.
