Data & Privacy Rights
Version 1.0 · effective 18 September 2026 · last reviewed 18 September 2026 · next review 18 March 2027
In short
- Delete your account in Settings — it permanently removes your topics, materials, quizzes, flashcards and history. Individual items can be deleted anytime in the app.
- Reminders, digests and analytics are all off by default and controlled by you — we send no marketing emails.
- Want a copy of your data, a correction, or something deleted that the app can't remove? Ask via the contact page — we respond within about a month.
- A few records survive deletion where the law requires it (which policy versions you accepted, billing IDs while a subscription is active) — the full list is on this page.
- Under 18? A parent or guardian can make these requests for you. Unhappy with us? You can complain to the ICO (ico.org.uk).
Read the full policy below.
This page lists the privacy controls ReviseBase actually gives you — nothing we can't deliver. To make a request, use the links below or the contact page. We respond within the statutory period (normally one month).
1. Controls you have right now
- Delete your account — Settings → Delete account. This permanently deletes your topics, materials, quizzes, flashcards and study history. It cannot be undone.
- Delete individual content — any topic, material, quiz, flashcard, chat or review can be deleted in the app at any time.
- Optional emails — Settings → Email preferences: daily reminders and weekly digests are off by default; switch either on or off anytime. We send no marketing emails.
- Analytics — anonymous usage analytics are off unless you accept them; change your choice anytime on the Cookie Policy page or via Settings → Privacy & data.
- Theme — your appearance choice is yours; it lives on your device only.
- AI information — what AI sees and does: the AI Transparency page.
2. Rights you can exercise by asking us
Message us via the contact page to:
- access the personal data we hold about you;
- get a copy of your data (export) in a portable format;
- correct anything inaccurate;
- ask us to restrict processing, or object to processing based on legitimate interests;
- ask us to erase data beyond what the in-app controls remove;
- withdraw consent (optional emails, analytics) — this does not undo processing already done.
If you are under 18, a parent or guardian can make these requests for you.
3. What deletion does — and the honest exceptions
Account deletion permanently removes your study content and progress. A small number of records are retained where we have a legal or legitimate need:
- terms-acceptance records — evidence of which policy versions you agreed to (kept as contract evidence, then deleted under our retention schedule);
- billing identifiers (Stripe customer/subscription IDs) while a subscription is active or where tax/anti-fraud law requires;
- records we must keep for legal claims or crime prevention where the law requires it.
Stripe holds its own payment records under its privacy policy. UNVERIFIED — HUMAN/PROVIDER CONFIRMATION REQUIRED: how quickly deleted file bytes disappear from platform backups.
4. Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we handled your data, contact us first — we want to fix it. You can also complain to the ICO (ico.org.uk) if you are in the UK, or your local data protection authority if you are in the EU/EEA.
